Postcode Lottery

Of all our geographical lottery draws, the People’s Postcode Lottery is the one true geolottery. UK based, the People’s Postcode Lottery uses postcodes instead of lottery numbers, which means that whole communities can win when one single postcode wins a prize. Just like many of the geolottery draws, you can play the People’s Postcode from anywhere in the UK with some super prizes up for grabs.

The People’s Postcode Lottery launched in the UK during the summer of 2005, claiming its place as Britain’s first genuine geolottery. The People’s Postcode Lottery started out life in the Netherlands and then Sweden before making its way to the North East of England, from where it quickly expanded into Scotland and the rest of the UK.

Playing the People’s Postcode Lottery isn’t the same as playing most other lotteries. This particular geolottery rewards entire postcode areas when their postcode comes out of the hat. It costs £12 per month to play one ticket per draw. You can play as many tickets per month as you want, meaning that the more tickets you buy the more you can win in this true geolottery.

There are daily draws, with 20 postcodes selected every day and £1,000 awarded to each ticket.

Every Sunday, winners in one postcode receive £30,000, while £1 million is shared by players in one lucky postcode every Saturday.

In Postcode Millions, a minimum of £3.2 million is shared by one lucky postcode area. To win a share of the top prize, the postcode drawn must match yours exactly (eg. AB12 3CD). To win a share of the Postcode Sector prize you must simply match the beginning of your postcode (eg. AB12 3 . . ).

Like any good geolottery, the People’s Postcode Lottery plays its part for charity. £2 from every £12 is given directly to local charities and community initiatives. So far over £9 million has been awarded to charities across England, Scotland and Wales with millions more to follow as this geolottery grows in popularity.
